Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. gluten free Italian sausage (I use Johnsonville brand)
  • 2-3 cans Italian-style tomatoes
  • 12 oz. tomato paste
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, sent through press
  • 1 c. water
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 Tbs. dried parsley
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 Tbs. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1/4 tsp. sugar
  • 1 onion, diced

Optional

  • 1 small can chopped olives

Note

This is my Grandpa Dick's spaghetti recipe, a family favorite. The original recipe was dated "1942", so it's an oldie but goodie!

Directions

1. Brown meat, onion & garlic in a little oil; drain fat off.
2. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 2-3 hours. At this point you can put all the ingredients in a crockpot on the low setting to cook while you're at work. Serve on gluten free noodles.
