Ingredients
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 lb. gluten free Italian sausage (I use Johnsonville brand)
- 2-3 cans Italian-style tomatoes
- 12 oz. tomato paste
- 3-4 cloves garlic, sent through press
- 1 c. water
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 Tbs. dried parsley
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1 Tbs. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. rosemary
- 1/2 tsp. thyme
- 1/4 tsp. sugar
- 1 onion, diced
Optional
- 1 small can chopped olives
Note
This is my Grandpa Dick's spaghetti recipe, a family favorite. The original recipe was dated "1942", so it's an oldie but goodie!
Directions
1. | Brown meat, onion & garlic in a little oil; drain fat off. | |
2. | Add remaining ingredients and simmer 2-3 hours. At this point you can put all the ingredients in a crockpot on the low setting to cook while you're at work. Serve on gluten free noodles. |
