Ingredients

  • 2 cups Almond milk (I used the sweetened vanilla almond milk by Blue Wave)
  • 1 cup Dairy-free semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons organic sugar, maple syrup or agave syrup
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons Bird's eggless custard powder
  • 1 teaspoon gluten free vanilla extract

Directions

1. Heat almond milk in a microwave until boiling.
2. Put remaining ingredients into a blender.
3. Add half of the hot milk and blend. Slowly add remaining hot milk and blend until chocolate chips are melted and mixture is smooth.
4. Put mixture into freezer and let cool.
5. Pour into ice cream maker (following manufacturer's instructions) and let stir for 30 minutes or until the consistancy of ice cream.
6. Spoon into bowls and eat or put into airtight container and put into freezer.

    mmmm…looks like a salubrious treat for the chocolate lover. Where do you find the Bird’s Custard Powder?

    You can find Bird’d Custard Powder in the specialty aisle at your grocery store…either there or by the instant puddings mixes. It is in a blue, red and yellow canister.
