  • 2 cans chick pea (aka Garbanzo beans)
  • 1/2 cup tahini (sesame seed paste. can be found in the natural food section with other seed and nut butters.)
  • 1-2 Garlic cloves, sent through press
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup flat leaf parsley, chopped
  • 1/3-1/2 cup water
  • salt to taste


I got this recipe from my friend, Lisa, who always brings this dish to baby showers and pot lucks. I love that it is oil-free too! Lisa told me where she got this recipe from, but I can't remember who she credited...stay tuned!


1. Blend all ingredients in a food processor until well mixed.
2. Let chill for at least an hour to allow flavors to blend.
3. Serve with veggies, as sandwich spread or in wraps.
